Coventry-bound Wasps see off Bath

Wasps’ scrum supremacy offered disgruntled supporters the perfect selling point to back the impending move to Coventry as Dai Young’s men saw off Bath 29-22 at Adams Park yesterday.
Andy Goode toasted Wasps’ December move to his home city’s Ricoh Arena with a 16-point haul to consign Bath to just their second Premiership defeat of the season.
Sailosi Tagicakibau’s try and Elliot Daly’s long-range penalty guided Wasps to a hugely impressive Wycombe win.
Chief executive Nick Eastwood was braced for an angry response to Wasps’ Coventry switch at yesterday’s game.
Eastwood had called on dissatisfied fans to “throw the eggs at me” rather than abuse players, but the resigned crowd knew no amount of back-biting could reverse the decision.
Wasps claim the Coventry move staves off any lingering threats of administration, after the club feared bankruptcy 18 months ago.
