Plaid Cymru conference: ‘Too much Labour’ in Wales

PLAID former MP Adam Price made a barbed attack on Welsh Labour and its record in government at the weekend.

Addressing Plaid Cymru’s conference on Saturday Mr Price said: “Devolution under Labour has failed. And we are the ones to fix it.”

He blamed Labour’s extended period in office.

“Starved of the oxygen of new ideas, dominant parties become sclerotic, an ugly word for an ugly phenomenon — the furring of the arteries of a political system.

“I don’t think it’s uncharitable or sectarian to suggest that we are long past that point in Wales.

“Nothing would shake up the lazy, indefensible, unforgiveable complacency of our Welsh political establishment more than these four simple words — First Minister Leanne Wood.”
