Liverpool beat Bristol 3-1 on Saturday, leaving them five points off the top of the table.
First-half goals from winger Gemma Davison and a close-range finish from midfielder Katrin Omarsdottir gave the Reds a two-goal lead going into the break.
Captain Gemma Bonner put the game beyond doubt in the second half, her header from a corner making it 3-0.
Natasha Harding nicked a late consolation goal but the damage had already been done.
Liverpool manager Matt Beard hailed the performance.
“That was our best performance of the season so far — I thought we were terrific,” said Beard.
“After the first 10 minutes we settled down and dominated play and I was delighted with our game management.”
