Beardies look forward to hirsute happiness

Beard Liberation Front says an independent Scotland would be facial hair-friendly

AN INDEPENDENT Scotland would be more beard friendly than the rest of Britain, spiky survey results revealed yesterday.

A Beard Liberation Front (BLF) online poll of hundreds of people found 70 per cent believe beards will be more acceptable after a Yes vote.

BLF organiser Keith Flett said: “It suggest a confidence that an independent Scotland would be a tolerant society and perhaps a disdain for Mr Cameron’s almost entirely clean-shaven Cabinet in Westminster.”

The vote comes despite Respect MP and No supporter George Galloway being the only prominent politician to have sported a beard throughout the campaign.

Mr Flett added that, whatever the outcome of today’s vote, politicians should follow the example of some US states and make it illegal to discriminate against beard-wearers.

Dozens of Scots showed their support for independence yesterday by getting a “Yes” or “Aye” tattoo for just £2 at a parlour in Kirkcaldy.
