Changes to your weekend Morning Star

The Morning Star regrets to announce that from tomorrow the larger weekend edition of the paper will rise in price to £1.20. The paper has not raised the price of the weekend edition since January 2011, and in that time our print and distribution costs have risen considerably.

Acting editor Ben Chacko said: “It was a very difficult decision to raise the cost of our paper at weekends and I can assure readers it was not taken lightly.

“Workers across the country are feeling the pinch.

“Unfortunately the same is true of the Morning Star and there is no alternative to this 20p rise, which still leaves us cheaper than most weekend titles.

“The team here are absolutely committed to ensuring this paper goes from strength to strength and we have a whole range of exciting new content coming soon which means the Morning Star is still your best Saturday buy.”

The price of weekday editions of the Morning Star remains unaffected.
