Palestine campaigners unveil London banner

PALESTINE solidarity campaigners told government what they thought of British arms trade with Israel yesterday by dropping a 75 foot long banner from Westminster Bridge.

Early commuters where taken aback as dozens of protesters from London Palestine Action (LPA) held the strip reading “UK: Stop Arming Israel.”

“By allowing arms sales to Israel the UK is providing political and material support for Israel’s ongoing massacre,” said one attendee.

LPA said that while the government was happy to issue sanctions and embargoes on Russia, it’s reaction to the Israeli Defence Forces onslaught in Gaza was silence.

The protester added that “as MPs go off on their summer holidays we’ve come to remind them that our government has blood on its hands.

“We are complicit in this slaughter. It’s got to stop now.”
