NHS campaigners out across Britain

THOUSANDS of people demonstrated in support of the National Health Service on Saturday.

In Leeds an estimated 1,800 marched, raising a huge new banner directed at David Cameron and Nick Clegg demanding “NHS out of TTIP” — a reference to the controversial new Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership which would enable transnational corporations to take over the NHS.

The Leeds protesters were joined by participants from the People’s March for the NHS, who are staging events and marches around the country in the run-up to the general election.

In Nottingham 800 people joined a march organised by the People’s Assembly.
