Summer of Heroes: You have done it again!

This time roll call of Summer Heroes includes delegates to construction union Ucatt’s conference.

A collection from just 150 activists raised an extraordinary £852.50, instantly catapulting them into the Sumer of Heroes Roll of Honour.

And another £458 of donations came from our other readers and supporters — including some inspiring messages.

One said: “Surely all serious, ecological, anti-war people and socialists will commit themselves to the cause of having our own independent voice.”

Another said simply: “I am a regular reader of the Morning Star as it keeps me up to date with the real and true news.”

The commitment of all of you brings our Summer of Heroes amount for day three to £1,310.50.

With yesterday’s great start, we have now raised a total of £2,335 towards our total of £150,000, needed by September 12.

Star circulation manager Bernadette Keaveney — who makes sure the paper gets to every part of Britain— was at the Ucatt conference.

She said: “The delegates were really inspiring. They know the Morning Star is their voice against bullying employers and blacklisting.”

SUMMER OF HEROES ROLL OF HONOUR: £20 from Liverpool, £15 from Ayrshire, £20 from Palmers Green, London, £40 from Birmingham online, £20 from London N5 online, £343 in standing orders and £852.50 from Ucatt delegates.
