Cardiff urged not to play Israeli friendly

Hundreds of football fans have called on Cardiff City to scrap a planned pre-season friendly against Israeli team Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona.

The Bluebirds are scheduled to play Ironi a week today in Putten, the Netherlands, about an hour from Amsterdam.

Campaign group Red Card Israeli Racism said that the fixture “gives tacit support for the appalling racism in Israeli society. The game must be cancelled.”
