A LABOUR supporter alleged yesterday that he was punched in the face — after telling Nigel Farage that the Ukip leader was “bringing violence and hatred” to South Thanet.
Dan Thompson said he was attacked after confronting Mr Farage as he campaigned in South Thanet, where he is Ukip’s candidate.
“Ten minutes after confronting Nigel Farage a Ukip supporter flying a flag from his car pulled over and punched me in the face,” Mr Thompson wrote on Twitter.
The local artist told Kent News that he managed to take a photo of his attacker and had reported the incident to the police.
Local Labour candidate Will Scobie visited Mr Thompson following the attack.
He said: “This is an appalling incident, which amounts to no less than an attack on democratic freedom.”
