SPURS JOB: Brighton boss Graham Potter says speculation linking him with the Tottenham job should be taken with “a pinch of salt” and insists that he is happy on the south coast.
Spurs are currently under the caretaker management of Ryan Mason, who has admitted that he has not discussed his long-term future with chairman Daniel Levy.
With the club reportedly interested in the Seagulls manager, Potter said: “I think that’s the challenge of being a football coach, certainly in the modern day, there is speculation, positive and negative.
“We haven’t finished anything here, there’s a lot to do and I am really happy here.”
LEEDS: Marcelo Bielsa says he should take most of the blame for striker Patrick Bamford’s recent struggles in front of goal.
After a ferocious start to the season, Bamford has notched just four in 18 appearances since the turn of the year.
“What I have clear is Bamford has all the resources to be a very important player and that he hasn’t managed to achieve it,” the Leeds boss said before facing Spurs tomorrow.
“I feel more responsible than him that he hasn’t reached his offensive production efficiency.”
LIONS: Warren Gatland admits that the British and Irish Lions will face up to 10 weeks in their Covid-19 bubble if they are forced to quarantine on their return from South Africa.
The Lions are seeking elite sport exemption to avoid having to spend 11 nights in a government-approved hotel on arrival at Heathrow — the requirement for anyone travelling from a country placed on the virus red list.
“The safety of the players is paramount and the mental health of the players comes first,” Gatland said.
“Being in that bubble, being away from family, it will be about making sure we stay connected with our families.”
