US: Wisconsin voters delivered a setback to the Elon-Trump alliance today, electing a Democratic-backed judge to the state supreme court in the most expensive judicial election in US history.

Susan Crawford was on course to defeat her conservative opponent in a race where President Donald Trump’s billionaire adviser, Elon Musk, was a major financial backer in the $100 million (£77m) campaign.

US: A California judge has ordered the Trump administration to temporarily restore legal aid for tens of thousands of unaccompanied migrant children in the US, following a legal challenge.
