Labour calls gamers to arms

GAMERS have been called to arms by Labour and urged to put their skills to the test with the military.

Defence Secretary John Healey announced to conference a new recruitment drive among denizens of the computer gaming subculture.

“I’m setting up a new direct route for military cyber recruits,” he told delegates.

“If you are a top gamer or coder, your country needs you.”

Gamers familiar with the Ukrainian language would be at a particular advantage it seems, since the rest of Mr Healey’s speech concerned prolonging action against Russia.

“This Labour government has stepped up support for Ukraine,” he said, boasting of Starmer’s increased bellicosity.

“New packages of artillery, air defence, armoured vehicles. A new direction to speed up deliveries.

“A new defence industrial treaty, with new export guarantees.  A new commitment to train Ukrainian troops.

“And a new pledge to spend £3 billion in military support this year, next year and every year.”
