INVESTIGATIONS have been launched into the behaviour of members of the Red Arrows aerial display team over allegations of misogyny, bullying and sexual harassment.
Across more than 250 hours of evidence, senior leaders have also been accused of “sweeping complaints under the carpet” for years to protect the reputations of “untouchable” staff, according to a Times report published today.
More than 40 personnel including young female recruits have spoken out over what’s been described as a “toxic” atmosphere.
Alleged victims said they were told they would be sent home or kicked out of the RAF if they spoke up.
An RAF spokeswoman said: “The RAF has a zero-tolerance approach to unacceptable behaviour and takes action wherever wrongdoing is proven.”
Some members have been removed from the display team following the allegations, however the MoD said none of the cases raised have met the threshold for criminal charges.
The inquiry has placed its final report with RAF leaders.
