FIREFIGHTERS on strike in Aberystwyth have become an internet hit after recreating the Beatles’s iconic Abbey Road album cover — naming their version “Aber Road.”
The four firefighters were snapped by a colleague striding across the zebra crossing holding Fire Brigades Union flags on Monday.
“The idea for this picture came about as there is a crossing right outside the Fire Station and it was a light hearted moment that cheered us up no end,” FBU Aberystwyth branch rep Matthew Roberts told the Star.
The firefighters were taking part in ongoing walkouts again plans to make them work until 60 or slash pensions.
