Palestine Solidarity Campaign condemns Israeli-UK 'bilateral road map' for erasing Palestinians

THE Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) condemned today the government’s “2030 road map” for bilateral relations with Israel, saying it gives the country a “green light to continue its violations of international law including the expansion of settlements and planned annexation of the West Bank.”

The road map, published on Tuesday, describes Britain and Israel as “freedom-loving, innovative and thriving democracies” and calls for closer strategic ties and for joint work against “anti-semitism, delegitimisation and anti-Israel bias.”

It vows to tackle the “disproportionate focus on Israel in the UN” and the “singling out of Israel in the Human Rights Council,” condemns the description of Israel as an “apartheid” state in line with the assessments of Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch and commits Britain to act to suppress the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.

PSC chair Kamel Hawwash said: “This appalling paper erases Palestinians from the picture, making no reference to the Netanyahu government’s intensification of the violation of their rights and Israel’s claim to the whole of historic Palestine in defiance of international law.”
