Khan blasted for inaction over migrant exploitation

SADIQ KHAN has been accused of allowing the “super-exploitation of migrant workers” to happen under his watch.

The Mayor of London was criticised at RMT union’s annual conference in Manchester for not improving conditions for outsourced cleaners.

Delegates discussed examples of the poor conditions many migrant workers face on the London Underground.

In response, assistant general secretary Mick Lynch said: “I don’t mind putting the boot into Sadiq Khan.

“He could resolve these things tomorrow, even without outsourcing.

“He could put a minimum set of standards into his procurement department that says that anybody who gets [government] contracts have to do a list of things.

“If he wished, he could do that tomorrow.

“But he doesn’t want to because he sticks up for the super-exploitation of migrant workers.”

Mr Lynch added: “It’s not just Tory policy Sadiq has implemented — it’s Tory ideology.

“Enough about his dad being a bus driver, he has done nothing for transport workers.”
