Aberdeen travel to Celtic Park today, looking to secure second spot in the Premiership but have only won once in their last six outings.
Celtic are unbeaten in their previous six games but lost their only league game this season against Derek McInnes’s side.
Aberdeen could in fact secure their third victory over Neil Lennon’s side this season, after they also knocked Celtic out of the Scottish Cup earlier this year.
Speaking to the assembled press in the run up to the game this afternoon, a buoyant McInnes said: “Any manager in the Parkhead dressing room bangs on about belief and showing your confidence to play. Obviously it helps that message when your players have already beaten them this season, especially at Parkhead.
“It certainly doesn’t do any harm but it’s another game, another challenge and Celtic are always formidable opponents. They have shown real consistency and they have scored nine goals in two games. Six goals last week suggests they are going to the wire with performances and motivation.
“For us it’s just about making sure we bring a performance that we are capable of and if we can do that, I think we can get another positive result.”
Aberdeen will be without defender Andrew Considine and midfielder Nicky Law who are both out for the rest of the season. They also have injury concerns over Peter Pawlett and Joe Shaughnessy.
Celtic’s only concern is Greek international Georgios Samaras who is ill.
