CYCLING: Team Sky boss Sir David Brailsford said the decision as to who makes the nine-man Tour de France squad has yet to be taken yesterday.

That’s despite Sir Bradley Wiggins, the 2012 tour winner, saying he didn’t think he’d be racing alongside defending champion and team-mate Chris Froome — with whom Higgins has a notoriously frosty relationship.

“The team is not yet finalised,” said Brailsford. “I will be the one making the decision on who is in that team.”

RACING: Viewing figures for Saturday’s Epsom Derby were down by 400,000 on last year.

Around 1.55 million people tuned into Channel 4 — a 14.7 per cent market share — compared to 1.95m (21.8 per cent) in 2012.

Channel 4 said the race still got a higher share than the sport on the other channels.

BOXING: Katie Taylor saw off Estelle Mosseley on Saturday to win a sixth successive European title win.

The Irish fighter registered a scorecard win with all three judges in Bucharest.

The victory is her 16th major title having won Olympic gold, four world titles and six European Union titles.

FOOTBALL: The 2018 and 2022 World Cups will still be free to air on British TV after BBC and ITV signed a new rights deal with Fifa.

The joint deal covers TV, radio and online broadcasting.

This summer;s tournament will be the 13th consecutive World Cup jointly broadcast by the two stations.

BOXING: Stuart Hall lost his IBF Bantamweight title on Saturday night to compatriot Paul Butler.

The Newcastle fighter went to the scorecards with the Chester man.

It means the 25-year-old is a world champion after extending his perfect career record to a 15th fight.
