Left hits out at Labour’s Tory allies

LEADING leftwingers let forth a torrent of pent-up rage after polls closed on Thursday night, slamming the Labour Party for getting into bed with the Tories.

Labour, Lib Dem and Conservative politicians united to form Better Together led by ex-chancellor Alistair Darling.

John McDonnell MP wrote on Twitter on Thursday night: “Never again should Labour go in with Tories in a campaign coalition.”

He said it had created “disillusions and divides our supporters.”

Communist Party international secretary John Foster warned that the result “indicates that a significant minority are losing confidence in the ability of the labour movement to act against the power of big business and the super-rich.”
