BOSSES are “sneaking behind the backs” of unions in a bid to shaft workers in the Night Tube dispute, TSSA union leader Manuel Cortes said yesterday.

Tory London Mayor Boris Johnson’s feted all-night Tube running was due to begin last month — but it is not expected to launch till next year after talks over workers’ conditions broke down.

Tube chief operating officer Steve Griffiths says Transport for London has reworked its earlier strike-provoking offer and was seeking staff’s views through face-to-face meetings and online.

Mr Cortes said bosses were “living in cloud cuckoo land” if they thought unions were out of step with their membership.

He said it was “inflammatory” for Mr Griffiths to bypass unions and repeated his call for Mr Johnson to break the deadlock.
