Davey’s bizarre use of extra hour

ENERGY Secretary Ed Davey issued a hapless call for people to skip their extra hour in bed over the weekend and instead use the clock change to spend time on hold to a power company.

The oddball initiative saw the Lib Dem singing the virtues of the tangled web of tariffs and special deals offered by profiteering energy companies.

Instead of challenging their multibillion-pound profits, the minister declared cheerily: “Switching is now quicker and easier to do so why not make the most of the extra time this weekend to save yourself some money?”
