ENGINEERING and maintenance staff at East Midlands Trains are to strike for four days from tomorrow.
More than 80 Unite workers based in Derby, Leeds and Nottingham are in dispute over pay.
The strike will be followed by a continuous overtime ban.
The company has withdrawn a 2.7 per cent pay proposal.
Unite regional officer Mick Millichamp said: “Our members have worked hard for this company, adapting to the many changes asked of them.
“However, they were very disappointed with the current paltry pay offer, now withdrawn, at a time when household bills are going through the roof. We would welcome constructive talks with the management with a view to securing a better pay deal.
“The strike is due to go ahead on Sunday for four days and we predict significant disruption to services, as people use East Midlands Trains to start their summer holidays.”
