Airbus UK Broughton's unbeaten start comes crashing down

Welsh Premier League roundup with Jamie J

Airbus UK Broughton’s surprising 3-2 loss at home to lowly Cefn Druids ended their unbeaten start to the season and moved them down to third in the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League.

Aberystwyth’s 4-0 win over Bala on Friday night, in front of 522 supporters, secured second place but they remain four points behind undefeated The New Saints, who only managed a 1-1 draw with Newtown on Sunday afternoon.

Port Talbot won at Rhyl, while Prestatyn’s winless streak was extended to six games by a 3-1 defeat at Carmarthen.

The bottom of the table clash between Bangor and Gap Connah’s Quay was abandoned due to floodlight failure.
