Five-year-old brain tumour sufferer Ashya King was reunited with his parents yesterday after their release from prison.
Brett and Naghmeh King were arrested for removing their son from Southampton Hospital and taking him to Spain for alternative treatment.
Ashya had been made a ward of court last week but the measure did not prevent his parents from seeing him.
During a High Court hearing on Tuesday Mr Justice Baker said the child should be with his parents.
Mr King told the BBC that he was “aching” to see his son, while Mrs King said that when imprisoned all she “could do was just cry and pray.”
Ashya’s case became front-page news when the hospital accused Mr and Mrs King of kidnapping him.
But Mr King claims he told hospital authorities that the family would transfer the child to Spain to access experimental proton therapy.
However he failed to mention exact dates despite alleged legal threats from staff.
