Shop stocking occupation products shut by Palestine activists

A MANCHESTER shop selling products from occupied Palestine shut for the day on Wednesday after a protest by Palestine solidarity activists.

The protest took place outside the Kedem shop in Manchester city centre, which stocks cosmetics using minerals from the Dead Sea in Palestine.

Manchester Palestine Solidarity Campaign activist John Nicholson said: “One of our protesters started a conversation with the two staff members at the front door — and, facing our protest, it took them just 12 minutes to phone up their bosses and shut up shop for the day.”

Protests in Manchester have been stepped up during Israel’s current military campaign against Gaza.

On Saturday an estimated 4,000 people demonstrated outside the BBC’s Media City headquarters in Manchester.

Mr Nicholson said: “We must not cease in working together with all our energy — not just now but beyond these current atrocities, until there is peace and justice for all Palestinians.”
