Honduras: VP faces extradition to US for drug cash

The government said on Saturday it had received an extradition request for former vice-president and businessman Jaime Rosenthal from the US.

Foreign Minister Arturo Corrales said the request would be sent to Honduras’s Supreme Court by tomorrow.

In October the US Treasury Department accused Mr Rosenthal, his son Yani and nephew Yankel of laundering money for drug traffickers.
