Tory conference: Tories take a swipe at Labour with new beer brands

A TORY stall hand selling joke beer brands taking potshots at Labour named “Len’s Lager,” “Mililight” and “Ballsberg” said yesterday that they should have had one for Mark Reckless.

The stall, which makes an appearance at the Conservative conference every year, this time featured beer bottles having a pop at Labour leader Ed Miliband, shadow chancellor Ed Balls and Unite general secretary Len McCluskey.

Mililight’s description read: “Weak flavour, weak leader, hard to swallow,” while Ballsberg’s description said: “Probably not the best economist in the world.”

Meanwhile “Len’s Lager” says “100 per cent influence on Labour’s policies.”

There was also a take on the popular crisp brand Pringles with a tube entitled: “Pringballs — once I start spending I just can’t stop.”

The Thatcher stall also made a reappearance this year selling various paraphernalia including a T-shirt emblazoned with the words: “The problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people’s money.”
