Ukip hijacks pro-NHS group’s logo

KEEP Our NHS Public demanded answers from Ukip yesterday after the right-wing party hijacked the health campaign’s logo in northern England without permission.

The non-partisan NHS campaign group said it did not authorise the use of its logo on a Ukip election leaflet in North Tyneside.

“Ukip is no friend of the NHS, with leader Nigel Farage on record pushing for an insurance-based health system,” said the campaign’s co-chair Prof Sue Richards.

“However, using our logo without our permission to try to fool the voters in North Tyneside is a new low even for Ukip.”

She said the group will be contacting the chief returning officer in the constituency.
