Man jailed for bid to delay deportation

A MAN who lied to two top judges and conned border officials in a successful bid to delay a migrant’s deportation was jailed yesterday for perverting the course of justice.

Mohammed Kabba posed as the migrant’s solicitor when he rang a High Court judge at night to make a spurious out-of-hours legal application.

When the judge ruled against him, he then called a Court of Appeal judge but was again turned down.

The person Mr Kabba was trying to protect was eventually taken off a plane to Nigeria — but only after Mr Kabba faxed fake documents to the Home Office.

Judge Melbourne Inman at Birmingham crown court gave Mr Kabba 16 months in prison.

The judge said Mr Kabba’s efforts “strike at the heart of justice.”
