Some 2,000 events are taking place in 150 countries on Sunday, with upwards of 100,000 people expected to take to the streets of New York, where next week’s summit is being held.

The watchdog said that inquiries are being made into how officers working for Sussex, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Surrey police forces dealt with claims about Savile’s predatory sexual behaviour.

Ms Campbell told Worcester News: “This is happening thousands of miles away, and yet my business in Malvern is being targeted, it’s bizarre.”
