TALKS continued yesterday in last-minute attempts to resolve a dispute at NI Water before the Christmas holidays.
The region’s Labour Relations Agency has been called in to broker an 11th-hour resolution to a furious row over pensions.
The dispute has resulted in an indefinite work-to-rule which began on Monday.
Hundreds of NI Water workers are taking part in the industrial action.
Talks between unions and NI Water management failed to reach agreement last week.
As a result, members of Nipsa, Unite and GMB voted for a work-to-rule and withdrawal of on-call services and overtime.
Unite representative Joanne McWilliams said all three unions were prepared to continue with further talks.
But she warned: “We have set out our position to both the minister and NI Water, but unless the pension proposals are taken off the table our members have no alternative but action.”
