Harry Man - Let’s Be Clear

Well Versed is edited by Jody Porter

Let’s Be Clear
Harry Man

A hospice of promises, a forger of credit.
The discretion of clubs, the lawyers to bed it.

A pig in a poke, a term for a plan.
A pawner of fauna, the lip of The Man.

A disgrace in the office, the stop at The Border.
A package of severance, the email informer.

The butcher, half-baker, and nuclear waster.
The spin in the splutter of the subsidy cutter.

The pop in the speaker, the Christ in the teacher.
The frack of the land and the shake of the hand.

A joke of all trades, a master of none.
A mortgage of scruples, a place in the sun.

Harry Man was born in 1982 in Aylesbury. His pamphlet, Lift, was published by Tall Lighthouse in 2013. He lives in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire.
