Two serving South Wales Police officers and a former colleague appeared in court yesterday accused of stealing a total of £30,000.
Constables Christopher Evans, 37, and Michael Stokes, 34, along with former detective sergeant Stephen Phillips, 46, denied the charges when they appeared at Bridgend magistrates' court yesterday.
Prosecutor Gemma Vincent said that the money alleged to have been stolen came from a home in Swansea which had been raided by police in 2011.
Ms Vincent named the complainants as Natalie Luben and Joedyn Luben.
Mr Evans, of Llangennech, Llanelli, and Mr Phillips, of Winch Wen, Swansea, face four charges of theft each. Mr Stokes, of Glynneath, Neath, is charged with two counts of theft.
South Wales Police confirmed that the three men had been charged as part of an ongoing investigation carried out by its Professional Standards Department.
Magistrates adjourned the case and the three men will appear at Cardiff Crown Court on December 8.
