‘No’ crowd hears Labour speakers

Labour leaders past and present addressed a No rally in Glasgow yesterday in an attempt to counter the momentum behind the pro-Scottish independence Yes campaign.

Ed Miliband and Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont joined former deputy PM John Prescott, shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper, former foreign secretary Jack Straw and former Northern Ireland and Welsh secretary Peter Hain beneath a statue of Donald Dewar, Scotland’s original post-devolution first minister.

Former PM Gordon Brown and Better Together chief Alistair Darling also attended.
