Men’s Football Purps come from behind to win 3-1

CITY of Liverpool FC made it two wins out of two in pre-season on Saturday, overcoming having a man sent off to beat Warrington Rylands 3-1.

The Purps went a goal behind but drew level through Elliott Nevitt, who capitalised on a poor defensive header from Rylands’ centre back to tuck home.

Playing away from home, manager Craig Robinson made a host of changes at the break, including the kit, but found themselves down to 10 men when Jay Jeffries was sent off following an off the ball incident.

However, the man disadvantage meant nothing to Robinson’s men who took the lead via Dom Reid.

And with minutes remaining, Kev McEllin put the game beyond doubt with a stunning right-footed strike from the edge of the area.
