Barlow ‘sorry’ for reports of ‘aggressive’ tax dodge

Take That singer and Tory boy Gary Barlow finally apologised over his tax-dodging — but only because it was exposed to the public.

Accused of “aggressive” tax avoidance earlier this year, the multimillionaire publicly stated that a “new team of accountants” was working on the issue.

Mr Barlow hid behind his Twitter account to say sorry to his 3.5 million followers.

“I want to apologise to anyone who was offended by the tax stories earlier this year,” he wrote.

The singer did not go into any further details on his financial misdemeanours.

But many were unimpressed by Mr Barlow’s apology.

Twitter user Nick Buckel wrote: “Nice of Gary Barlow to apologise for any offence caused by the tax stories. Not the actual avoidance of tax, just the reporting of it.”

Mr Barlow’s friend, PM David Cameron, has rejected the idea of removing his OBE.
