BOXING: World boxing champion Kell Brook is in hospital in Tenerife after being stabbed in the leg yesterday while on holiday in Tenerife.
Brook’s condition is described as “stable” by his promoters Matchroom, but a spokeswoman for Spain’s Guardia Civil said he had “lost a lot of blood.”

RUGBY: Leicester yesterday announced a 20 per cent growth in operating profit to £482,000 for the financial year 2013-14.
Strong season-ticket sales and match attendances, combined with increased sponsorship and commercial revenues, have seen the Tigers lift turnover to £19.4 million.
Chairman Peter Tom said: “Our significantly improved financial performance is a tribute to the strength of our support.”
CRICKET: Charlotte Edwards notched another unbeaten half-century on Wednesday as England Women moved into an unassailable 2-0 lead in their Twenty20 international series against South Africa with a 42-run victory at Wantage Road.
Edwards, who made 62 not out in Monday’s clash at Chelmsford, bettered that effort by posting an unbeaten 75 off 61 balls after the hosts won the toss and opted to bat. In all, it was her fourth successive fifty.
