FORTY staff from the Ministry of Defence’s arms dealing division stand accused of targeting children as young as four to consider working for them in the future.
A team from the department’s Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) unit attended the Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair in Birmingham last month “to inspire young minds.”
“The team were able to interact with thousands of children and young adults to encourage them to consider pursuing a career in any of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (Stem) subjects,” according to an article in the DE&S magazine.
The team used Lego products to encourage youngsters to build robots.
Scarlett, four, from Gloucestershire, said: “Robots are cool, I want to do what you do at DE&S.”
Rosie, eight, from Birmingham, said: “This was a fantastic stand, I never thought I would be able to make a robot move by itself.”
