Was the Suarez apology a ‘come and get me plea?’

Luis Suarez may have apologised but did he do it for the right reasons?

It seems that Barcelona told the Liverpool striker that if he wants a move to Spain, he needs to apologise for biting Giorgio Chiellini.

The Spanish side have made it clear they are in the hunt for the Uruguayan, along with rivals Real Madrid and Kosovan side Hajvalia.

And yesterday Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta said: “Suarez has shown he is humble enough to admit an error, which is very important.

“He has been humble enough to apologise to those he has affected because it happened in the middle of a festival of football. In this case it’s the best thing a person can do.”

Liverpool have had to fend off interest for the past two summers for their talisman and the player has been rewarded with a new contract each time he has decided to stay.

But this time could be third time unlucky, it may be a case of how long now before we see Suarez at the Nou Camp?
