THERE is a bond between Nigel Farage and David Cameron. They both passionately believe in austerity.
Both will be delighted at news that the policies they back are working, and so fast.
Save The Children says that by 2020 a record five million children will be living in poverty.
That is a stunning vindication for coalition ministers, who must be beside themselves with glee that taking down the welfare system has borne such rich fruit.
Nigel Farage may be a bit disappointed at the pace of this penury. Were he in coalition with the Tories, the speed at which poverty is overtaking millions of British people would quicken.
But while our media slavers at news that just 9 per cent of voters backed Ukip, only the Morning Star strips away the Farage mask and in turn gives real weight to this stark warning of a generation condemned to misery.
Now if you believe child poverty is the natural state of things, and an acceptable price to pay so that the rich can get richer, go buy your Daily Mail or Sun.
