H 150 to go with cartoon on pizza

MILLIONAIRE chef Jamie Oliver has come under fire following his meeting with SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon on ways to tackle child obesity.

The First Minister has said that she is committed to tackling Scotland’s child obesity, aiming to halve it by 2030.

Plans suggested by self-proclaimed healthy eating crusader Mr Oliver include cracking down on cheap pizzas and putting a stop to two-for-one-style promotions on food high in sugar, salt and fat.

However, critics have said that such policies effectively dictate what poorer people are allowed to eat, with Twitter user @Maccadaynu saying: “Let’s not forget that Jamie Oliver once said working-class families could easily afford to eat healthy as they can afford their own TVs, and that they should shop at their local farmers’ market. His healthy eating campaign has always reeked of class snobbery.”

Perhaps no-one should mention that today is National Pizza Day to Mr Oliver — or Ms Sturgeon for that matter.
