The Apologist
Matt Howard
Ok, ok, so it’s time for me to talk.
Here? Is this the line where I best hit the mark?
I’ll need a lectern, somewhere to rest the hands –
of course I’ll relay the lesson learned, I understand
all the hurt caused; and a glass of still water,
something to hold, to allow some small gesture,
if you please. I’ll open being contrite
but stick to the agenda, be forthright –
yes, yes I’m the offender
but point to the future, remember
that above all; what else can I say?
Thanks for watching, good night, God bless. Ok?
