National oil company PDVSA has temporarily halted gas exports to Colombia following a drought that has cut hydroelectric output.
Supplies were suspended on Friday due to “the behaviour of electrical energy generation due to climatic variability.”
PDVSA said that once hydroelectric reservoirs were back up to optimum levels it would resume the daily gas supply of 39 million cubic feet to Colombia.
