OLDER people are more likely to experience poverty than younger generations, the the National Pensioners’ Convention revealed yesterday.
Almost 40 per cent of those aged over 65 in Britain experienced poverty at least once between 2010 and 2013 compared with 30 per cent of those under 65.
The NPC, which meets for its annual parliament conference in Blackpool today, also found almost six million (42 per cent) of over 65s struggle to afford essentials like food and energy bills.
