THE Israelis killed at least another 25 Palestinians and injured more than 82 in Gaza today, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the ministry said: “A number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, unable to be reached by ambulances and civil defence crews.” 

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed a confirmed 50,208 Palestinians and injured 113,910 since October 7 2023, with 855 killings and 1,869 injuries coming since the ceasefire was broken by Israel on March 18, the announcement said.

The death toll is likely to be far higher as thousands of Palestinians are still listed as missing.

Hamas confirmed today that its spokesperson, Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua, was killed in Gaza at dawn in a “direct” Israeli attack on his tent in the northern city of Jabalia.

The group said Mr Qanoua was “an example of steadfastness and dedication in serving his people and their cause.”

A statement from Hamas said: “The occupation’s targeting of the movement’s leaders and spokespeople will not break our will, rather it will only increase our determination to continue on the path until the liberation of the land and the holy sites.” 

Israel has also continued its attacks on Lebanon where at least four people have been confirmed as being killed.

Among those recently killed is Ahmad Adnan Bajjiga, a unit commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force in a strike in the area of Derdghaiya in southern Lebanon.

The Israelis accused Ahmad Adnan Bajjiga of co-ordinating attacks against Israel and posing a threat to its security.

As well as breaking the ceasefire agreed with Hamas in January, Israel has repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreed with Hezbollah on November 27. This includes failing to withdraw from southern Lebanon.

Israel is also continuing to carry out raids across the occupied West Bank.

Raids were also carried out in Nablus, Qalqilya, Attil and Qaffin. In Qaffin north of Tulkarem, six people were reportedly arrested.

Yemen’s Houthi-led forces today claimed responsibility for two ballistic missiles fired at Israel “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people.” 

Israel claimed they intercepted two missiles.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Knesset today voted through a new law that bolsters elected officials’ control over deciding judges, according to media reports.

The new law alters the make-up of the judicial selection committee to give elected officials more influence and decrease that of current judges, the Times of Israel reported.

Critics say the law politicises the judiciary and gives Israel’s governing coalition too much power.
