Thousands set to counter far-right Robinson protest in London

THOUSANDS are set to march in central London tomorrow to counter a protest by far-right Tommy Robinson supporters.

The fascist figurehead is currently in prison after admitting contempt of court.

Stand up to Racism (SUTR) campaigners argue the real agenda of the “Free Tommy” demonstration is the spreading of virulent racism, Islamophobia and anti-migrant hatred in order to build a fascist street movement.

SUTR co-convener Sabby Dhalu said that the far-right march is particularly dangerous as it follows a series of Islamophobic attacks on mosques, adding: “Last summer’s racist riots followed a Tommy Robinson march.

“There’s no doubt that those on the far-right Robinson demonstration will be emboldened by recent events such as [Elon] Musk’s Nazi salute and Donald Trump’s National Emergency Declaration regarding immigration.

“This week we marked Holocaust Memorial Day, 80 years after the liberation of Auschwitz. We know what anti-semitism and racism can lead to.

“The lesson of history is that we must stand up to, mobilise and unite against the far right and fascism.”

The counter protest, Stop the Far Right, will assemble at 11.30am on St James’s Street and march to Whitehall, and will hear speeches from union and campaign leaders.
