War graves pension cut

PUBLIC servants who tend the graves of 1.7 million service people killed in two world wars are to have their pensions slashed, unions revealed yesterday.

The move by the government-controlled Commonwealth War Graves Commission will affect 180 workers.

Unions Unite, PCS and Prospect all condemned the cuts.

Unite’s Julia Long said workers face losing £120 a week from their pensions.
