Green Beret who detonated a truck in front of a Trump hotel left ‘wake-up call’ note

THE Green Beret soldier who killed himself as he blew up a Tesla Cyber truck in front of a Las Vegas hotel owned by Donald Trump on New Year's Day left a note calling the incident a “wake-up call,” investigators said on Friday.

Master Sergeant Matthew Livelsberger left a note saying: “Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives?

“Why did I personally do it now? I need to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took.”

Sgt Livelsberger claimed the truck bombing was “not a terrorist attack.” Nobody was killed in the explosion in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, but seven people received minor injuries.

“Fellow service members, veterans and all Americans, Time to wake up!” Sergeant Livelsberger wrote.

“We are being led by weak and feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves.”

The reason Sgt Livelsberger chose the Trump hotel and a Tesla Cyber truck is still unclear. He was reportedly a supporter of Mr Trump.

Two military officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Military.com site that Sgt Livelsberger had been experiencing difficulties recently, describing signs of apparent mental distress.
