MEN’S FOOTBALL: Current holders The New Saints face Bala in their delayed Welsh League Cup quarter final tomorrow evening. The New Saints are on a domestic eight-match winning run that begun after they lost 3-2 to Bala at the end of September. The winners of tonight’s match will travel to face Barry Town in the last four. The other semi final will see struggling Aberystwyth take on Cardiff City’s under 21s.

MEN’S CRICKET: Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a century and Azmattullah Omarzai hit an unbeaten 70 as Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets in their one-day international late on Wednesday night. The result sealed a 2-1 victory for the Afghanis in a series that has been played exclusively in the United Arab Emirates. Player of the match Omarzai had earlier taken 4-37 when Bangladesh posted 244-8 in their 50 overs.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Donovan Mitchell top-scored with 36 points as Cleveland Cavaliers won 119-113 at Chicago on Tuesday morning to notch up their eleventh straight win at the start of the new NBA season. Sacramento lost 96-116 at San Antonio, Oklahoma continued their good run by beating the LA Clippers 134-128, Brooklyn edged to a 107-105 win at New Orleans, and Washington lost again 107-92 in Houston.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: African Cup of Nations qualifiers continue tomorrow with Togo needing nothing less than a win when they visit Liberia in Group E to stay in contention while Chad will be out if they lose to Sierra Leone in Group G. Already qualified Cameroon travel to Soweto to face a Namibian team that has yet to take a point from their first four games and can’t make it through to next year’s finals in Morocco.
